Default BIS Not working - Orange Senegal

Alright, so I brought my 9800 to Senegal after unlocking it. Showed up at Orange, told them I wanted it hooked up to their network, with full functionality (including GPS).

They said ok, grabbed it, no idea what they did to it. Short story, I now have an Orange SIM card, a working local number, working text, working internet connection via browser and tethering, but the BIS is still not connected, even though they installed their Orange app that clearly says 'Blackberry Internet Services' and '5 days' next to it, saying that's what's left on that pre-paid pass. So no mail, no app, no GPS.

Anyone has suggestions? Today is sunday, so I can't do anything about it, but tomorrow I was planning to head back there and see if they can do anything. (customer support is useless and constantly says 'there's technical difficulties with the network' which translates in 'I have no idea what to do'.)

Is there a setting I need to look into on the phone, a file to install?

Default Please Help

Hi...how did you get your phone unlocked. I am also in Senegal and I have a Blackberry 9800 Torch as well. Tried to set up my BIS and I cant even register with Orange because of restrictions. I've tried phoning Orange Senegal but because of Language differences I have had no luck at all.

I think you need to contact their customer care representatives. Tell them to re-activate your sim card. Presently its activated on their computer system but not on your phone.

which is the best provider in senegal and do they have a sim that works in senegal and the gambia? i am coming to senegal later this year and want to have a sim card while there.
