I have tried this with the 7520, but when I go to reinstall the browser using the desktop manager, it doesn't show up on the "install" list. How do I get it to show up?

"To start you need to download this link for the service books.

1) ENABLE SERVICE BOOK COMPLETE BACKUP / OVER WRITE / RESTORE on the Device, like this:

a) On your device, go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Service Books hold Alt and hit {S}{B}{E}{B} let go of alt and it should show a message about how legacy service books are enabled.

2) BACKUP EXISTING SERVICE BOOKS

a) Hook up the phone to the laptop

b) Open Blackberry Desktop Manager -> Backup/Restore -> Advanced

i) On the right side, scroll down to Service Books, then press the

ii) Click on Save, and save them some place just in case

3) WRITE NEW SERVICE BOOKS TO DEVICE

a) First, clear your service books by scrolling down on the right side, high light Service Books, then press Clear

b) Check your device now (Options -> Advance Options -> Service Books)

i) If there is anything left besides something that mentions TCP/IP or Browser, delete those also

c) Open BB DM, go to Backup/Restore -> Advanced -> Left Window -> File -> Open -> select the service book file you downloaded.

d) Disconnect phone from Computer.

e) Go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Host Routing Table -> BB Menu key -> Register

f) go to advanced settings -> browser and change the hot spot to browser.

i) Now your browser should be enabled, along with this, you should also be able to send/receive MMS. Now would be an okay time to test this.

g) If you do not get the browser option restart and try again.

If you want to add any other apps at that point, go ahead and do it. I HAVE AN OFFICIAL BOOSTBERRY !!!!"
I do not have an Advanced Options on my 7520, I would greatly appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

What do you do when you get to step 3c and you are trying to transfer the service book file you downloaded and it comes back saying error restroing database? Why does the error message pop up and not let me transfer the service books? I don't know what to do and I'm frustrated. Someone please help.

I can personally vouch for the fact that yes, you can get full internet, OTA installs, and MMS on boost, but it requires a little work on your part.

there is a pretty good article concerning "boostberries" at this wiki
(the wiki is maintained by another forum, so If I'm breaking any rules, let me know and I'll modify my post accordingly)

since I don't have a high enough post count to post links, just type:

"BoostBerry How-To...everything you need to get the native browser and MMS working"

into Google search and you will find the answers that you are looking for
I would like to know how you did that. I tried and did not understand totally and spent countless hours with no success. Could you help me out @ 714.400.2761 name is Frederick..... Thanx!
