unblocking blackberry curve 8520
Hello, My miss`s has had her blackberry curve blocked by her service provider through alot of back and forthing over an unpaid bill. The phone is usuable, but she can`t make or send texts or calls (understandable) but she doesn`t even has alerts if someone has messaged or rang her. Is this simpley a sim block, and unblocking the phone would make it usuable?
Would anybody be willing to help unblock the phone for free please.
Any help would be appreciated

The bill most likely would need to be paid in order to "unblock" it. And maybe not even then.
This is a matter to take up directly with the service provider that blocked the device.
Note that this is different from unlocking the device.

Carriers block the IMEI of the device so no SIM services are possible and its very unlikely the device will be fully functional again until you resolve the issue with them as once blocked they are the only ones who can unblock it. Wifi will work allowing you limited functions eg BBM/browsing. When an IMEI is blocked like this it goes on a register recording why it was blocked. If you try to sell the phone on its easy enough for anyone to find out its history from web sites like checkmend.
