Default Having issues with network coverage?

I have a 7290 I just stuck my current sim card in so I could just toy with it and the phone is saying theres a network but wont actually lock onto it..I pulled the battery,have updated its OS and still it says searching for network?Any ideas?Im on tmobile and I have the full packeage deal for BIS. I also cant see the browser Icon after showing all the icons?Im an ***** I guess but this BB had an icon for browser didnt it?

After you stick the sim card in the device go to options/advanced options/host routing table and click in the trackwheel. Select register now. To get the browser you need to have the service books sent to the device again. Just log into tmo bis site and update the pin. Then send service books.
