Can't send sms messages

I just got a used 7290 and popped my sim card in and went to work. I am unable to send text messages as it says that no message services configured. You will only be able to Save Draft. The device didn't come with any software or manuals. I was able to print a copy of the manual on line. I don't see anything in the manual about my problem. Does anyone have any ideas.

can you make outgoing phone calls?

Sounds like you may need to call Rogers to make sure the text plan is on there correctly and have them "refresh" it in the switch.

go to options/advanced options/hst routing table and register it with the network.

I am able to make outgoing calls. When you turn the phone on it says Data Connection refused on the main screen. I don't have any manuals or cds or a usb cord for the computer...not sure if I need to download something for it to work

I am able to send text messages now. I have no idea how I got it to work but it does. thanks for everyones help. I am sure I will have more questions
