Wish I still had mine. Gave it to my 4 year old daughter to play with probably flushed down the toilet.

Ahhh! That was my first BlackBerry. I still remember when I'd take it with me on the Baltimore Beltway, when you got to the Southeast side and went past one of the transmission towers it would rattle across my dashboard.

That worked for so long and I got more productivity out of that than I ever did with my laptop. Great memory!

When I was a lot younger I used to play with my dad's RIM 850. He's been a long term user and had a new device for a long time and even met Jim Basilllie. He said he was even a nice man and this was before the BB took off, in 2001. He got me my first 7200 series device in 2005 and I have been HOOKED ever since! Of course I pay for my own phone now but me and him still talk about RIM. He was never a nerdy type, as he was a global VP. But I always got so much fascination and amazement about him having e-mail anywhere. of course it didn't work in the house as we lived in the country but it was so cool whenever we'd go to London. They were some fun times when it was a REAL status symbol to have a Blackberry.

Re. your question. I have no evidence for it but my understanding is that it is GSM and therefor should work in Singapore. I have a 6200 monochrome and likewise works worldwide. The old ones are not provider branded and all unlocked.

When you insert a PAYG SIM and it shows gprs, (no caps) you should be fine with BIS.

I'm keen to know how you're getting on with it. Could you pase results as it may be of interest.
