I remember someone talking about buying soething, almost like a small peice of rubber that hangs underneath the car and drags on the road. Supposed to lower the static the car creates which is why people get sick, or something like that.

ANTISTATIC CAR EARTH GROUND WIRE

Try searching that when you get to a computer

They talk more about the "dangers" of static electricity when refueling your car though

A piece of rubber wouldn't help - need metal to dissipate static

I don't know exactly what it's made of. I've seen people using them though Kind of doubt it would be so easy to start a fire when filling your car though throught static...

Hey check this out whoevers on a computer. What do you think?

Those things are complete bs. It is impossible for a static charge on a vehicle to ignite gas.

Mythbusters did a show on it before.

Anyways what brought that topic up?

How is everyone?

I thought they did something for people who got car sick too but I guess not

They do actually work I guess, but you'd never need one. Static can ignite gasoline. If you're filling 5 gallon cans in the back of your truck, it's possible to light the fumes. As far as filling your vehicle up though. The chances are too low

I was understanding that static could not ignite gas fumes. I could be wrong. Guess I gotta brush up on my research lol.
