I think if you just put in Z10 people will pronounced it however they like. Now that I am done being a little smarty-pants, no I have no idea how it is going in France.

Not to hijack this thread but given that it is a Canadian product, it's pronounced Zed 10......

....the "eh" at the end is of course optional......

Hijacking continues! If it was the Zed 10, the name of it wouldn't be z10. It would have the ed after the z.

Thorsten Heins said zed 10 when it was unveiled. Live with it and accept it.

Hey guys... it's in another thread
It's here, in shops (orange) and in my hands. Shops where I went were sold out I've been fortunate enough to get the last one in one shop.

I don't know what they call it in Canada but when it crosses the southern border (if it ever does cross the border) it will be called Zee 10

Zed is the way we pronounce "Z" in France. Zero doubt zed10 here.

What does german have to do with it. It's American vs Commonwealth English. At the unveiling in new York Commonwealth was used.

Erm why would they call it the Zut 10? Le français ne prononcent pas le z comme "zut". That highschool french is paying off! LOL

Actually, US commercials call it the Zee10. Even the Superbowl commercial pronounced it differently for each country.

What to call it shouldn't be a problem in forums since we aren't pronouncing it.

But I'm all for people calling it whatever they want.

And I believe this is why they used "Z" or "Q" as 1st letter of the device name. No need to span different marketing/ad prints with localized names.

Actually, did anyone come up with a reason for the Z moniker anyway? Why Z in particular?
