My commentary: BRING IT ON. The release of BlackBerry 10 is a sign of a new era of mobile experience. Research in Motion is in it to WIN IT.Purchase these awesome apps for Z10: Police Scanners: San Diego Police Radio | SFPD Police Scanner | Utilities: Mobile Network | Developer Mode

Yahoo! is commenting on whether or not RIM will disappear in 2013? I don't think they're in any position to be belittling any of these companies.
------------------------------------
I keep hearing BlackBerry 10 referred to as a "1.0 operating system". It isn't.
- It isa complete departure from the old BlackBerry Operating System.
- *It is also the next evolution of BlackBerry Tablet OS and has much in common with 1.0-2.1 of the PlayBook Tablet OS

Yahoo should also be in this list imo.

Will the sunrise of tomorrow bring in peace in any way?
Must the world live in the shadow of atomic fear?
Can they win the fight for peace or will they disappear? - 12-26-2012, 03:17 PM #5

Yahoo who? Never heard of them.

Yahooo them selves are Very anti RIM, I'm not suprised that they put RIM on that list.
You should hear what their new CEO has to say about BlackBerry every chance she gets.
If I were her, I would consentrate on turning my own company around & stop jumping on RIM

Yahoo! seems quite adamant about predicting RIM's demise... Seriously, this must be the 4th time in an article or video that they've mentioned RIM.
Oh wait. Now according to them, BB10 is one of the most anticipated tech products of 2013... Yahoo! is a joke.Blatant placeholder signature.Thanked by 2:BergerKing (12-27-2012), mrfreetruth (12-27-2012)

Put the pitchforks away. Yahoo is simply regurgitating an article from 24/7 Wall St.
It's a prediction... whatever. Let's see how 24/7 Wall St has done over the years:
The Ten Brands That Will Disappear In 2010 - 24/7 Wall St.
24/7 Wall St. Ten Brands That Will Disappear in 2011 - 24/7 Wall St.
24/7 Wall St. Ten Brands That Will Disappear In 2012 - 24/7 Wall St.
What is cool is that the editors do seem to call themselves out on missed predictions the following year.Thanked by 2:OMGitworks (12-28-2012), scalemaster34 (12-26-2012)

Yahoo is out of touch in general. They have far too many bloggers masquerading as journalists and the quality of their content is pretty bad. It's gotten to the point that some folks troll certain contributors to the site because their articles generally lack any real sort of news.
Yahoo is one of those dinosaur internet portals that still tries to act like they're a big deal yet they've been irrelevant for better part of a close to a decade. They're like AOL, only without the desk drawer full of those old 1000 hours free CDs....... - 12-26-2012, 06:17 PM #14

Their crystal ball was a cracked rental leased for thirty years by Mad magazine, then drilled as a bowling ball at Gutter Lanes, and finally used as a bong at Phi Beta Dopa house for the last nine months. They are becoming the Palm of sites.

Yahoo is only kept alive to ensure Google doesn't get whacked with an antitrust suit for having a near monopoly on the search and ad revenue market.

Yahoo Reporter Clueless - "Brands Likely to Disappear in 2013"
More like "YawnWho".
These articles are dumb. Clearly filler articles. The truth is most of these brands will probably be there in 2020 and hundreds of other things people thought would be around will instantly be gone. Some companies will get a bad case of the Enrons and surprise people. - 12-28-2012, 04:05 AM #20
Can you believe Ballmer offered 44BILLION dollars to buy Yahoo, and they turned him down. God, what a bullet dodged!

And how about a 1yr chart, which proves the opposite? Comparing which of two companies is spiraling into the ground faster doesn't get you very far.
I presume you were being ironic by actually using YaWho?'s stock charts instead of Google's. Let's put petty quibbles aside, does RIM's future extend past 2014? - 12-28-2012, 08:27 AM #22
Precisely, year to year Yahoo is up 20% while RIMM is down 20%. Yahoo just aggregates much of its "news" as it did with this story. To many here, Seeking Alpha seems to be full of it when they write anti-RIM articles but truth speakers when one of their bloggers writes a pro-RIM story. Please just take it for what it is worth without all the moral outrage.
To be serious, though it looks like BB10 will be a good system and successful, and personally I am holding out for a physical keyboard version even though my 9650 is almost dead, IF BB10 flops, then RIM will be in VERY SERIOUS trouble and the story could be closer to fact than fiction.
