Default Why is BGR announcing all of the leaks and not Crackberry?

Just curious why Crackberry either didn't have or didn't release this info before BGR? I come here for my Blackberry news, so I'm surprised the news is just links to BGR!

probably alot to do with either it being unconfirmed, or press embargos, or potentially the fact they didnt want to be the site to lead with computer renderings touted as phones, especially when at least one of those renderings is over 6 months old

BGR tends to make a lot of guesses, and then report those guesses as actual news. Then in the event one of those guesses manage to come close to the truth, they try to use it as proof of professional journalism.

I would have to disagree, BGR tends to be right on the money when they break news (news coming from them, not from some bull**** Wall Street Journal speculation).

also the apollo `specs` from BGR state

    5-megapixel camera with flash
and all images they`ve leaked have no sign of a place for a flash

and the torch 2 has has a pre-release pic of OS6.0 on there (note the contacts and media icons).

im in no way saying that they are wrong, just my observations

The answer is simple, because BGR will be able to reach a broader number of people, not just BlackBerry users.

Because BGR has ninjas working for RIM and it gets this info, while CB doesn't have anyone on the inside working for RIM. Also, if RIM released this on purpose, it was sent to BGR because they probably have more visitors than CB, so RIM wants more people to read this.

I noticed that as well. They aren't pictures..just computer rendering. I can do that too if I would be paid for the hours to draw those phones.

These phones do not exist, only in the virtual world, they aren't even prototypes.

I know about that...why don't they make newer pictures instead of a rendering?

    @OP
Because the person who 'leaked' the info contacted BGR instead of CB.

In my opinion, maybe CB want to ensure that all news are learly correct before being informed to the rest. Also, it could mean that CB has less information compared to BGR. We will never know the truth unless we have insider in both companies just my 2 cents!

Who's got more pull in the online tech world? Who reviews products other than BB's? That's right..BGR. As much as I think you have to take anything he reports with a grain of salt..his reviews do lend some weight amongst the techies. Until Kevin and Crackberry start doing OTHER reviews other than BB's (which is not what this site is about imo), then it's highy unlikely that your going to see Firsts being reported here.

I hate to point out the obvious here, but there is more RIM bashing on this site than any other site I visit. Maybe the person leaking it is making a point to give the info to BGR. Im sure if I worked at RIM as a higher up, I would look at is "well, they like to bash us even though they're a BB site, so lets release the leak somewhere else".

Just a theory, but thats what I would do.

A person who is happy with a service (or in this case devices) will tell maybe one or two people that they are happy. A person who is not happy with something will tell 7 or more people that they are not happy. So there are obviously a lot of people on this site that are unhappy with the offerings from RIM and they are expressing that discontent.

The squeaky wheel gets greased and RIM is finally looking to grease the wheel of it's biggest critics, users who feel that RIM isn't keeping pace with the competition. I'm just relieved that RIM has finally put out specs for a phone that don't have that 624 MHz processor and minuscule app space.
