Viber Comming Soon
Hi Guys,
I know that we've been facing a lot of negative press to Blackberry, but I hope this lighten things up (unless if I'm not up to date XD)
While I was browsing the Viber site, found this.
Viber for Blackberry | Viber Support
I hope it arrives this month or April XD. I assume this is for the BB Smartphones. Though I wish they made one for the Playbook XD. - 03-01-2012, 08:47 PM

Hi,
This is a member of the Viber Development Team!
We are currently at the last stages of coordination with RIM. You can expect the release as soon as the app is approved by them (extremely soon). We will be announcing the official release very soon now!!
Thank you,

Unfortunately we still can't specify an exact release day (since it is not entirely in our hands). When it comes to the preparations needed for the release, we (Viber) are almost 100% ready. We're not talking about weeks here, that's what we can say.
Once the coordination with RIM is finished, the app will be out in the air

Just to point out, RIM can be the stumbling block behind getting certain apps out. Tunein, Skype, now Viber.
Strongly suggest as many people as possible who want Viber tweet, email, contact, or do anything to get Alec Saunders or any of the Developer relations team to prioritise Viber being cleared and released as the first VOIP app to be released on the ecosystem. Id rather the thousands of Playbook Android conversions were put on hold for a few days while this is pushed through, gives people like me one less thing to whine about, its not video calling and theres no call to landline feature yet, but its better than nothing. - 03-06-2012, 08:56 AM #18
We still don't have any concrete news about Playbook - at this stage we probably will not be offering official support for Playbooks unfortunately

But again - we are on the brink of releasing a very preliminary Beta version of Viber. So we ask for your patience until we can gather reports from users, stabilize the application, and only then will we have concrete information and specs. An official representative of Viber Media - 03-06-2012, 09:17 AM #19Why was God able to create the world in 7 days? so realistically, its RIM thats causing the Delays...
I only blame RIM for the stagnation of BB... i definitely dun term it as the downfall... coz outside the US, BBs still sell...
I am deffo been waiting fro viber for a while... hope u guys work it out soon - 03-06-2012, 01:50 PM #23

In their twitter support account they said that they are waiting for RIM's approval.
Cheers! - 03-07-2012, 03:10 AM #25
"not weeks" means less than weeks, not more than weeks

Look, it is also of our great interest to release Viber for Blackberry as soon as possible, but last adaptations must be made in order for us to release a fully-working product.
The wait is shorter than ever now, and we should have news soon.An official representative of Viber MediaThanked by 2:bobauckland (03-07-2012), PINC (04-07-2013)
