Default Is Verizon gearing up to announce the Z10?

So I get the following text message from Verizon out of the blue today:

Free VzW Msg: Coming Soon! The first BlackBerry 10 smartphone on America's largest 4G LTE network. Visit go.vzw.com/blackberry for alerts and the latest launch details.
I signed up for email alerts way back during the worldwide launch on the 30th, but this was the first text message that I received about the Z10 so I got all excited and thought that they had posted updated news on their website. Unfortunately, the link takes you to the same page to set up your email alerts. As disappointed as I was, I'm wondering if this is signalling that Verizon is ready to make their announcement? It would make sense if they were launching in mid-March.

Any other Verizon customers get that text message?

I haven't received any updates or texts, I signed up minutes after their web page was live and resigned up again last week.

T-Mobile customers got a very similar message. It's probably just to build up the hype

This was a verizon store. He also said the earliest was march 28. I am simoly relaying what information was passed to me from my area. I have had this confirmed by two stores in the area. End of march first week of april.

I do not want these dates to be true. I want it sooner. trust me

That's why I keep saying that BlackBerry stating it's in March, or just wait a "few" more weeks smacks of desperation. Just say it's basically April and be done with it... I hope that this is not true, but the fact we don't have a exact launch date speaks VOLUMES.

That is entirely up to the carriers. Usually these notifications go out about 2 weeks prior. So lets see if this holds true

Every day there are posts from folks who were just in the Verizon store and the store manager told them it would release on __________.

One of them has to be right if only because every date is covered by now. But I doubt anyone who does know is telling.

I don't think the Verizon launch will be delayed because of higher than expected sales because of CDMA vs. GSM. There might be other reasons why it could be delayed but we have heard from at least one reported Verizon employee who says training is next week. No word about delays from him.

I guess I have reached the point of others who are ignoring the rumors, if it's delayed not much I can do about it, I'm just not going to get worked up until I hear from a creditable source I know on this forum or from the carriers. Those of you who have been here longer than me already know this, I am just learning it.

Great to see T-Mo users getting the alert too. I'm wondering, I've never signed up for alerts in the past; when other flagship phones came out like the Galaxy SIII and the Note II, did Verizon send out text messages like this leading up to the launch? I'm not sure if this is something standard that they do or not, but it makes me more confident that Verizon really is behind BlackBerry with BB10. They definitely didn't show this much interest with the OS 7 devices (though maybe because they weren't 4G-capable phones?)
