Default Verizon Blackberry Storm $99

Does the fact that Amazon is selling the Storm for just $99 now and Verizon is now offering a "buy one get one free" when adding a line for the Storm mean anything for the upcoming new Blackberries on Verizon?

I guess it would kind of make sense that if the best Blackberry on a network is being offered for so cheap, the upcoming bigger and better Blackberry coming to Verizon might be here sooner than we think, right?

Not to duplicate conversation on the Verizon thread about what is coming- which we know is the Niagara or updated Curve- but this thread is aimed to take the conversation in a different direction.. Will a new release be SOONER than originally thought or is Verizon just grabbing additional customers that wouldn't have already paid the $150-200 to get the Storm thus far?

They are making more money..... In these times, a company has to do what a company has to do... IMO

Wouldn't be surprised if the pearl and curve in PINK get a price drop soon for Love Day

The BOGO is not just the storm. It's for all BB's on VZW. And there are going to be new BB's on VZW in the next 2-6 months we are told.

Same here. The $99 price tag Amazon has is a full hundred cheaper than I could get it from Verizon's store. How does that work buying it off Amazon and then getting it activated and all?

Amazon's prices are only for new customers. They only do upgrades for AT&T right now.
