Very well deserved! He is responsible for all good things that are to come from RIM! Soon we will be over the first hurdle, and we will overcome anything that steps in our way, or tries to stop us from getting "Our Time". Everyone knows we have waited long enough for this to happen. Had it not been for Thor, we probably would not have seen any of this, or any of these good things happening for RIM and BB. Congrats to you Mr. Heins! I hope this man remains in charge for as long as RIM and BB is around. He's done so much in such a short period of time, and soon the (fruits-no pun intended) of his labor will be shown off to the entire world!

The ship is sinking... RIM is dead!
Tell that to the Executive of the Year. - 01-11-2013, 11:27 AM #11
Congrats Thorsten.
Though I see him a little bit like Hercules and the 12 Labors. He's part of the way through the tests and has succeeded at tasks like right-sizing the org, changing the media perception, changing the leadership and dealing with inventory issues and balance sheet issues. Now he's got to launch and maintain a good product------------------------------------
I keep hearing BlackBerry 10 referred to as a "1.0 operating system". It isn't.
- It isa complete departure from the old BlackBerry Operating System.
- *It is also the next evolution of BlackBerry Tablet OS and has much in common with 1.0-2.1 of the PlayBook Tablet OS

Re: Thorsten Heins: Cantech Letter’s 2012 TSX Executive of the Year
The complexity of the problems to bring RIM back from near death to active relevancy has been daunting. Despite the constant bleeting of the doubters and detractors, Mr. Heinz has always taken the high road. He deserves praise and this award for what has been accomplished under his leadership. There is still a long way to go, but for the first time in quite a while even the naysayers are realizing that the light at the end of the tunnel doesn't have to be the train. It may well be the light of mobile relevancy, innovation and sucess for RIM.
Congratulations, Thorsten Heinz, but I think the real prize you desire is BlackBerry 10's success.Last edited by newcollector; 01-12-2013 at 10:10 AM.

Congratulations M. Heins.
Some were writing on Seeking Alpha and Motley Fool RIM will be in marketing books next year (as the 21th century example of failure).
I do believe You and a bunch of people (I'm thinking to A. Saunders and F. Boulben in particular but not exhaustively) will be somehow in theses books ... but for the (first) freaking leapfrogging of the 21st century."I speak English like a Spanish Cow"
