I think that's a good sign for earnings. The ceo wouldn't do a tv interview if the earnings were going to be a disaster.

I was thinking that as well. unless it damage control but that does't make much sense. Anyhow we can all guess if it's good or bad but will have to wait. Very much looking forward to seeing thor

Might be to offset the drop in stock. What better way to comfort investors through BNN. Since the results aren't expected to be good.

I don't know - it's possible, I think. Especially if there's a weird one-time charge that's likely to get misinterpreted and cause a change in sentiment towards their financial viability and the viability of BlackBerry 10.

I love the may this RIMM team take every opportunity to get the message out and / or correct those who zero in on some details to try and negate RIMM.

By the way they show some nice video clips of BB10 in action during the interview.

Don't know if it has been posted elsewhere, bur RIMM shares on Nasdaq initially hit a high of about $15.50, but dropped to a low of about $12.30 and ended at $12.65 in after hours trading. According to Wall St Journal, drop may have been due to concern over a change in RIM's pricing model for the service side

But in a conference call with investors and analysts after the results were released late Thursday, Chief Executive Thorsten Heins said that RIM's service-revenue model would change significantly next year. RIM relies on service revenue—fees it charges customers for using the company's proprietary network—for more than a third of its revenue.

A new, tiered "menu" plan for those fees, which Mr. Heins said would debut next year, spooked investors. While Mr. Heins didn't detail the planned changes to the current model, they could jeopardize one of RIM's most stable cash generators.

Investors sent the company's shares down 10.4% in after-hours trading to $12.65. That move followed an initial rally, with RIM shares trading up more than 8% before the call.

Betchya Thor and the PR team are going to be working some late nights in the next few days to refine their messaging around the service plans and how they clarify for the media.

Come on... Thor (or any CEO) would never say that he was saying things like 'amazing' because he is the CEO and did not believe ;-)

Any CEO is a political 'beast' (in a figurative sense)!

whats priceless was the genuine look of amusement on Thorstens face when he answered "no, i really truly believe...". You can tell he's genuinely excited about the product the way us fans are, and that's a really effin great sign.

lol yeah, like he would actually say "Um..I don't really believe it. But shareholders need me to be confident so I say I'm confident, but I think BB10 is going to fail...."

Silly question in the first place. But it was actually a good response because that was one of the few points in the interview that he smiled and looked more enthusiastic.

The rest of the time he seemed distracted because earpiece seemed to be falling out. lol
