Smile T-mobile more good news! 3G coming

This is a good day for T-mobile users. It seems Samsung will be releasing a 3G phone for Tmobile on Sept. 10. See link below. I am in heaven today. I just need a BB with 3G and wifi.

FCC will have a field day with AT@T even thinkin about buying tmobile. Besides we don't want that they will be the only GSM carrier and they would definetely **** us around even more. Tmobile keeps them somewhat consumer oriented otherwise they would just lye down on us

Thumbs up

Go T-Mo GO!

I am a VZW loyalist but I have always liked T-mo for some reason. If tmo would start snatching up local gsm carriers to expand their network and coverage, I would probably make the switch. Then again looking at how much new bandwith they picked up in the AWS auction, 1700Mhz may be the new defacto frequency for cellular communication for them.

Oh matt I agree with you on the whole T-mo buying ATT thing. T-mo's buying power is HUGE. In the AWS auction the only provider with deeper pockets than t-mo was Verizon. Since verizon ony wanted (not needed) 20mhz blocks of 1700MHZ in 6 areas of the country T-Mo cleaned house. They bought so much bandwith in so many areas they TECHNICALLY have the ability to cover about 90% of the country which is outstanding!

In Europe, the most countries and almost all the carriers are supporting 3G.
The problem is that even I have a 3G sim, even Vodafone provides 3G, my BB 8800 is just GPRS

Yes, problem in Europe is that is technicaly before USA (in GSM). So 3G and UMTS is normal here in some country. We just need 3G Berries...

Woow! GPRS only. You should at least have EDGE. I didn't know you needed a different sim for 3G.

Considering T-Mobile is virtually Worldwide, I can't see that happening...

But, in answer to the initial post, I hope a BlackBerry device capable of supporting 3G is released soon...

i think we should see 3G BB by the first quater of 2008. i don't see how RIM can hold out much longer. we may have to sacrifice some features (wifi or GPS).

Default Finally

Ive been with Tmobile since it was Voicestream for over 7 years. Last year I switched to VZW because I wanted an updated Treo (which was a huge mistake) and I wanted high speed data. Given that I am really looking forward on switch to a blackberry. IF IF IF IF Tmobile can get that up and running I will come running back immediately. Hopefully right in time to swap out of my two year annoying contract. Yet Ive been unable to find any info on the net regarding tmobile and their future high speed data network. I cant tell u how sad I hate being away from them. I liked their service and their prices BUT their phone selection sucked as far as what I wanted at that time. Hopefully ill be back

according to my convo with a TMo rep, 3G is coming in the last quarter of 2007...anyway, I asked him what would happen to customers who just signed up for edge devices....he said there would either be a software upgrade to enable 3g use, or steep discounts would be given on new handsets. Hope sooooo.
