Default South Afria Youths name Blackberry the coolest brand!

This emerged in the latest SA Sunday Times Generation Next Brand Survey, which polls over 5000 youths aged 8 to 22 on what they think are the coolest brands across a range of categories.

BlackBerry was voted the coolest brand to have overall. It was also rated the coolest cellphone, followed by Nokia, Apple iPhone, Samsung and Sony Ericsson.

Yep. Looks like the youth of South Africa know a quality brand when they see one. We posted it in the blogs a couple of weeks ago.

For the sake of all the other fruit fans out there, I hope the same article didn't say that African Youth vote JORDACHE as the coolest jeans either...

Just curious. Does South Africa have any 3G (or faster) data infrastructure? RIM and Nokia seem to do well in places where the networks are mostly EDGE.

Pretty sure if they gave the same poll to the USSR of the mid-80's who could get thier hands on ANY smartphone device, BlackBerry would poll#1...bigger and MOST important question is, where will BlackBerry be IF? the USA did a similar poll, say this December? Let's not worry about the loose change in grandmas sofa, and foucus on making RIM a viable device that takes on iphone, HTC and Samsung and the Droid in the US shall we?
