Rogers to cut price of z10 to 99.99
http://mobilesyrup.com/2013/02/28/ro...dips-to-99-99/
Cause for concern? Or just a temporary promotion?

Its all speculation until the earnings call. Some are going to say its because its not selling well. Some are going to say it is a strategy to get it to sell even better. We don't know yet

Could be a result of the carrier hearings with the CRTC as well...they really don't like the three year contracts, perhaps this is a step by carriers to try and make them more palatable?

It's only a 50 dollar discount. Hardly seems like a cause for concern. It's the same price drop as the Nokia. I'm with Flag on this one, probably trying to make those 3 years look a little better

This worries me a great deal. If it was selling well why would they cut the price now? Can anyone tell me if this has happened to other successful devices on Rogers?

If it were the Z10 on its own I might be concerned. Note the ATIV S carries an $80 discount.

It looks like the Galaxy S3 had a $60 price drop 6 weeks after launch.

I'd be inclined to say it's not important, BUT I was told in another thread when I said that the ending of a pre-planned 10$ discount was a non-event that it clearly meant the z10 was selling like crazy. Something a few posters here agreed to! So, having been corrected, this clearly means the z10 isn't moving at all!

Rogers to cut price of z10 to 99.99
Yep. Try the 99 now and see if folks in the U.S. will pony up 199 or higher later.

Rogers is known for slashing on contract phones for promo purposes....as mentioned the CRTC will in all likelihood ban 3 year contracts so Rogers will pull out all the stops to sign as many contracts as they can....
