Re: RIM stock above $9
not if the sales aren't there, right now the rise is there because of greater interest in the stock since BB10 is looking more and more real, and that it will actually be a likely hood that RIM will release it and that the company won't collapse before it can even go on sale

Re: RIM stock above $9
This stock is going up because Jim Cramer said to not get involved with it. If he said to buy it, it would have gone down.

Re: RIM stock above $9
True, except that everybody is expecting this to be a bad quarter. Three disappointing quarters were already baked into the price, until that last quarter wasn't as disappointing as expected. I don't see the price taking another nosedive after the next quarter unless BB7 sales totally tank globally. I think between renewed confidence in the company ability to actually get BB10 out the door and positive feedback trickling in from hands-on users, I feel pretty good about the price to continue a slow rise until BB10 is out there, at which point sales will dictate what it does from there.

Re: RIM stock above $9
I checked out the bb jam video showcasing the bb10 and it looks very
Exciting. I want to buy back stock but need to know if android apps
Will be easily available on bb10 phones. Are android apps easily available on
Playbook now.
All negative news on rim has been based on lack of ecosystem.
With large selection of Apps I believe bb10 will be a winner - 11-05-2012, 01:16 PM #10
Re: RIM stock above $9
Yes, you will be able to sideload Android Apps on BB10 & developers can repackage their Android Apps and submit them to BB10 App Store.I checked out the bb jam video showcasing the bb10 and it looks very

RIM will also have a system where they will rate High Quality Apps, so that you know which app is high quality and which one is low quality.Thanked by:Rockstar3331 (11-05-2012)

I believe the stock will be around $11 to $12 buy launch.
If TH is able to provide a quarter in Dec, only as good as the last one the stock could be much higher!Judge most Tech Articles by the comments it received, not by what the author is saying! Gets to the truth every time! - 11-05-2012, 07:44 PM #12

Re: RIM stock above $9
RIMM is not a growth stock and without a dividend there is little upside to buying any RIIM shares. Maybe after 2015 the price might reflect an upward trend, however, at the moment emotion and speculation will only leave you with a piece of paper worth less than most people's degrees during the last decade.

Re: RIM stock above $9
That's Great. I think a lot of people are going to be positively shocked
When the BB10 comes out. I'm holding out and waiting for the new phone. Pressing the home
Key to switch application is a pain in the . It is actually technology going
Backwards compared to using your PC.
RIM is now at the leading edge technology wise! - 11-05-2012, 09:32 PM #16
Re: RIM stock above $9
After 2015? Really? RIM isn't an oil company, it's tech company. Anyone trying to predict the price of a technology stocks 4 years into the future likely has no idea what they are talking about. And their predictions are likely much worse than it would for any predictions of the near future.
At this point, in general people see RIM having 3 scenarios.
1) BB10 comes out, it's a hit, stock is way up next December.
2) BB10 comes out, it's the same old same old. They are making money, but not that much. Stock will probably stay around the current price. Maybe lower.
3) BB10 comes out, it's not impressive enough to get any market share and Win8, Android, and iPhone dominate. RIM loses money. Stock will probably trade lower and RIM is taken over by another company purely for their patents. Possibly by Windows or Google.
No matter what, we will see the results by December 2013.
Beyond 2015, they'll be at a whole new cycle of development.Thanked by:mrfreetruth (11-05-2012)

Re: RIM stock above $9
More BS stock manipulation. The culprit? The overall bearish tone of the market today hasn’t helped. But the main blame is being tied to a report from Pacific Crest Securities that contended the BlackBerry 10 software may be “dead on arrival.”
“We believe BB10 is likely to be DOA,” James Faucette, one of the more bearish analysts on the Street, said in a research note. “We expect the new operating system to be met with a lukewarm response at best and ultimately likely to fail due to the new and unfamiliar user interface, lack of complementary devices, relatively few applications and what we believe to be a general reticence by app developers to develop for the platform.”
He also believes the company may have run out of time to raise capital through asset sales, and notes that inventories of older BlackBerry devices are beginning to disappear.
“Our checks indicate inventories have begun to decline without any improvement in sell-through,” he said. “We believe U.S. sales were largely flat month-over-month (in October) amid sporadic discounting; we believe sales in Europe actually declined month-over-month despite aggressive discounting due in part to aggressive postpaid discounting of lower-end Android-based smartphones.”
He reiterated an “underperform” rating.
RIM shares had posted good gains over the last week after it said wireless carriers had begun testing of the new software, seen as critical for pulling RIM out of its slump. That news signalled that RIM was still a important player in the smartphone game and provided the market some assurance that the devices were on track for delivery early next year after numerous delays.Do those who protest the loudest or longest have a lock on the truth?Thanked by:mrfreetruth (11-09-2012)

Re: RIM stock above $9
Conspiracy is the wrong word, hidden agenda would work better. Then I believe you might be wrong.
I would love to see this anaylist defend his position against someone that knows what there talking about. "Kevin" you hear me? He would look like a fool!
EDIT; funny how after Kevin and Umi took Jaguar financial to task, they shut him down!! He was clearly a self promoter and got exposed as one.( he to was able to hurt RIM share price) The media will allow this type of BS until its clear that some other media is proving the BS nonfactual! Then they can no longer support the Bu!!Siter!!Last edited by Dapper37; 11-07-2012 at 06:25 PM.
