Default RIM fb post today

RIM today posts on fb

"What happens in Vegas... is going to be broadcast RIGHT HERE and on Twitter (@BlackBerry) next week during the Consumer Electronics Show. Even if you're not at the event, you'll get all of the details, so stay tuned for live updates and more from CES 2012. We have some tricks up our sleeves…"

I hope they really pull off something so damn big that they have every person there talking about it for days... All their talk about tricks up there sleeve. Could they really have something planned that no one expected? I think they could pull it off.. I mean after all a lot of what bites them in the is what they say. If they were able to keep something air tight and super secret it really would be awesome to see right now.

Any thoughts?

Oh, don't worry ... good news or bad, the chatter (bitching) will be plentiful here.

I'll be happy with a demo of a fully working version of OS 2.0 and a firm release date in February (this February). Some OS7 updates would be nice, as would at least some news about OS10 devices. I'd also hope for some updates on the status of BB Fusion. Beyond hat it's anybody's guess.

the only trick RIM has had up their sleeves is making their users believe that there's something new around the corner and then pulling the rug from under their feet by not standing by their word.

I really hope RIM isn't up to their usual head games and actually deliver something ground breaking at CES. More BBOS 7 devices are just going to be a bigger disappointment. The world is watching.....

Back on topic, before this thread was overrun with people saying Blackberry sucks once again (why does that constantly happen, does it happen on other forums?), I expect some sort of content announcement, maybe the movie store for PB and OS10 phones.

And perhaps an Amazon store/Kindle app announcement, seeing how RIM mentioned they were continuing to discuss further partnerships with Amazon?

Yeah, fingers crossed something cool is announced.

Though I suspect it will just be them showcasing OS 2.0.

Well,....partnerships is where RIM has failed miserable in the 'go-it-alone' attitude. So, announcing a few key partnerships would show some leadership maturity and a stronger future. However, I still think there is a undercurrent hoping for a break-up/merger/take-over which I just can't imagine happening.

You have to be within range of your pc which kind of defeats the purpose of the playbook being portable. If I'm in range of my pc I'm watching netflix on my tv. If anyone is totally satisfied with this half-assed approach why not just create a pc client to store all of the playbooks apps so we can just save the space for media

You must have this confused with something else. As long as you have connection to the internet, you have access to Netflix and many other video sources. Your PC acts as the server and you connect to it anywhere you have an internet connection, such a wifi or mobile hot spot. Check out the details at www.playon.tv.

i hope its news about the BB 'cyclone' that has kind of been forgotten about. for the people who don't remember what this code name goes with its RIM's answer to Apple's AppleTV. my dad got one for Christmas and i was over at his place last night and he was showing it off, very usefully device.
