"BlackBerry has acknowledged how important the U.S. market will be to its turnaround efforts. "You got to win here to win everywhere else," BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins told the AP. "That's just the way it is."

You'll have to call your service provider and ask them what you have on your phone plan. I'm thinking for $29 you probably do not have unlimited data.
On my own note - WooHoo!! I am so stoked! (although holy crap - it is taking forever to sign in to Pandora on my phone) I came to find out about the issues I was having with Slacker's latest upgrade (not running), and said - forget that! I just deleted Slacker.
I love Pandora, I was using Pandora long before I had a blackberry, and not being able to get Pandora on it was one of the reasons I looked at other phones, but now .... I will be thrilled (if I can get it to run that is ...)
EDIT/UPDATE:
Okay this is nuts. I've been letting it sit on the "signing in" screen for 23 minutes. And this is after I've tried a battery pull. My file free mem is over 47mil bytes. What gives????Last edited by LimeTwyst; 03-25-2009 at 12:46 PM. Reason: can't get it to run!

I'm getting a "pandora is trying to connect from inside and outside your firewall, which is not allowed by your it policy" message. (paraphrased)
I'm not on a BES, so the only IT policy I can think of us through Alltel. Any ideas? Alltel always ends up being the obstacle to any blackberry issue... MMS, GPS...
Also, I get this message with slacker

I tried to download this morning and my 8830WE was an "unsupported' device. I tried again this evening and the 8830 is now supported. I was able to download and install the software. I am loving having Pandora on my BB!

Hey, I love having pandora on my tmo 8320, to the posters noticing some problems when receiving texts. I have noticed it as well. Sometimes it will just go to the next song, and I have had it a couple times where it just froze. There are definitely still some glitches with the program, but overall I love it.
Note: Don't forget about the quick mix station where you can select a variety of stations to be played that you have set up. - 04-02-2009, 03:13 PM #33
I figured out how to get it to work! I had to customize the User Data settings. The Pandora support guy had me change a couple of settings in my Interactions, but that didn't do anything, so I decided to tinker around with my User Data settings.
I am very protective of my contacts which I have found out is the "PIM" data under "User Data" so I left that one set to "Deny" but I set the last three to "Allow" and it works!
> Files
> Key Store
> Key Store Medium Security
I probably didn't need to allow "Files" but there ya go - something to experiment with to get it running and still keep PIM data secure. =D - 04-02-2009, 06:25 PM #34
This is an awesome app. And just for the record, I'm on TMO and it works fine - don't know why there would have been issues with TMO before?
Haven't had any repeating issues (but then again I'm not going to listen to it for 4 hrs looking for a repeated song!)

I found out yesterday, that it works with bluetooth stereo as well! I have my BB connecting to my motorcycle helmet via bluetooth and tried Pandora while riding. Worked like a charm!

I was using headset that came with my BOLD. Also have a Sony headset that (this time) I checked for compatibility with my BlackBerry. All 2.5 jacks will not work with BlackBerries just because it fits the plug. I had to return a couple of headsets for this reason. I don't have a Bluetooth Stereo headset(prior to my BOLD) anymore.

Cool thanks.
I actually just read up a bit more on v103 of Pandora's app, and learned that in order to use Bluetooth, I needed to go into the 'stations list' menu option, then select 'options' and then enable the Bluetooth option.
The BT quality isn't amazing, so I still might try the 2.5 jack option. Has anyone successfully output Pandora through this jack with an 8830we?
Thanks again - 06-03-2009, 10:35 AM #45

OK, so Pandora seems to be working fairly well through Bluetooth on my 8830we. The only problem is that the music will often times be slowed or sped up (voices are deeper, or higher and tempo is too slow or fast).
I'm now curious if anyone has had success listening to Pandora using the 'headphone jack'.
I've read on other threads that Radio Shack adapters don't work, but ones like this will work for playing MP3s off the 8830.
Do a search for:
ada3-bb8100m35fst (it's a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter from seido)
Has anyone been able to output music from Pandora through this jack?
Thanks
