I can let you know as soon as I can get to the OS screen. I'm sure T-mobile did something to prevent OS upgrades... sneaky little guys over there.

But really I'm sure they didn't. It might be an app you installed needing to reboot to finish installing. This might happen a few times depending on how many apps you have installed.

Default OS 4.5 upgrade

Does the 4.2 OS need to be deleted for the 4.5 OS to upload?

How long did you wait? Or did you keep track of how many times it cycled thru and restarted?

I've been rebooting for hours now... think something didn't take. I am going to the old OS and removing some unused apps. Then i will try again when I get home from work

Is your phone the 8110 or 8120?

8120 and you will have to downgrade as the os won't work for it.

8110 and I have no clue and am of no use to you.

DO IT! It's quite fun. Mines named Lulu because the word Pearl in swahili is Lulu.

Ok upgrade successful on a T-Mobile 8100...no reboots.

So it may be app you have installing and needing reboots. You may want to downgrade...then upgrade but don't Install and 3rd party apps until after the upgrade is successful.

I really like the 'L' theme.

All old messages have a red exclamation point left of the message (opened/unopened) icon. Also, once i open a message, there is a small black box to the left of the date/time stamp. Does anybody know why it does this or how to change it?

My Steps:

1.) Ran Installer
2.) Deleted Vendor.xml
3.) Ran a Backup
4.) Stated Upgrade and told it to not install 3rd party apps and to not make another backup and restore after completion.
5.) Installing 3rd party apps now...some I have to do OTA but not a biggie.
6.) Sitting back happy and running 4.5

Oh and now I can post links so that that Forum Rules!
