No support for Flash in BB OS7.
Words fail me (as they often do), but this is beyond the pale. Like the article I read says...RIM takes a step forward and TWO step backwards. sigh.

dont know in what section it was posted or how exactly its title was, was a thread about no flash support and no android apps for OS 7 (which was obvious)
but it doesnt matter, its no big deal
all im saying is that it was pretty obvious that there'd be no flash support for OS 7, i'd love to have it, but well.. 1 more year without flash, QNX will support it at least ! : ) - 05-04-2011, 02:48 PM

Would be nice, but it is what it is....who even knows for a fact it will be implemented on QNX phones....even if it is on the PB, I don't know...just how things go.
Personally me in the long run, not having flash is fine. I have a desktop, laptop for that....wouldn't mind it if was on it, but not one to complain if it isn't....plenty of phones out there if that is your main concern...... - 05-06-2011, 01:20 PM #8
Well, I am disapointed. Having Flash on the Atrix is nice, even if it doesn't support FB games.
I've been wanting Flash on a BB for a couple of years now.

Meh, one more year to go!
I feel for those who absolutely NEED flash. For those who just want it, the novelty wears off pretty quickly.Thanked by:scorpiodsu (05-14-2011)

May not be coming to BB because of security????

Blackberry said they would have flash and a webkit browser back in summer 2009. RIM really keeps their promises and listen to their constumers.

I've discovered that there are a lot of features that are highly overrated in devices other than BB. I have one of those overrated devices sitting in my kitchen drawer right now. It simply didn't give me what I wanted over the course of one full day. BB does.

Isn't it amusing how people who claim to not enjoy CB at all simply can't stay away????
It's because it's CRACKBERRY, the BEST BB site....

I have to say since getting my PlayBook I don't use my 9700 for much more then calls. And I just got rid of my AT&T landline & DSL and switched to Comcast cable. I am now saving $44/month for the next 6 months and $20/month after that. So I am thinking of getting mobile hotspot for $32/month. This will allow me to use my PB everywhere. Since my 9700 is in great condition I see no reason to upgrade anytime soon.

The fact that iOS does not have Flash, and that Flash kind of sucks in Android likely means there is a lot of engineering work required to make it smooth like in the PlayBook. It is obvious RIM and Adobe worked very closely together on the PlayBook.
RIM's not going to expend lots of already constrained resources trying to shoehorn Flash into the old Java ME based BB phone OS just to have everyone go "wow Flash is really terrible on BB phones". They are going to hit the QNX phones with the same smooth implementation as the PlayBook has. - 05-23-2011, 10:03 PM #23
I expected the new phones to support flash, and while I'm disappointed that they won't, I don't think it'll be a HUGE determent.
IMO, the world should move away from flash as it is. - 05-23-2011, 10:30 PM #24
