why would you release a beta version to 2million people (potentially) of an OS that is designed to save the business? You could potentially be putting a bad taste in your consumer's mouths if it doesnt work as anticipated. You keep an OS like this under wraps until you are ready and it is completely polished.

As cool as it would be to see BB10 drop this week, I really hope it doesn't happen.

They'd have an awful time drumming up and maintaining excitement around their new BB10 phones if they let all their secrets out so far from release.

What would the press report in 1Q13? "BB10 phones launch with the same things we saw months ago".

Remember the abuse they took for showing off the PlayBook way too early? Why repeat that same mistake? Imagine if they had kept it under-wraps and released it a few months later. It was hotly anticipated, and had a lot of market potential. The early announcement and late release nearly killed one of the best tablets ever to hit the market.

Sure, it's astonishingly unlikely that we'd see BB10 for the PlayBook drop before the new handsets are out. Still, you can hardly blame the OP for a little hopeful excitement.

Lol no one is being mean....and everyone knows a bridge update usually comes along with a OS update. I expected to see threads wondering if a new update was coming but RIM has stated numerous times BB10 for the playbook was coming after the actual devices launched. What I said is exactly the same as others saying there is 0% chance in that happening. Lol everyone knew this

Bla1ze mentioned here that rim was testing 2.1.0.1114 so if we're getting an update it's likely to be that one or slightly higher build For those who lost data on 2.1 update..
