I don't think RIM will out do Apple's comeback with just BB10, but it will be a nice comeback I believe.
Nice!!!!
Guys mean business
You realize BB10 is more than just one phone right?
They got to their peak with the old OS, why don't you think they can make a comeback with a new one?
Add to the new OS, they also have QNX and all the potential M2M that it brings and you have the makings of a great comeback.
Thank goodness they are starting to talk about actual strategy and action... A far cry from the marketing silence, neglect and inaction in the days of Balsile and Lazaridis...
Where can I get one of those BB lapel pins?
That was a really informative video, Frank Boulben looks very willing to take on the challenge and I'm glad that he addressed the Marketing needs within RIM as a first order of business and can't wait to see what's coming with the launch.
Sounds good! Preordered mine today :D
"Can your phone do this?"
;)
Comebacks are the best after you fall way behind, so RIM will make the best come back of all times for sure........
you dam right they cant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BB10
This was over the moment that french accent dropped and the suit **** was too calm and in control he even embarrass me I got work to do.But seriously that interviewer got dealt with she started strong loud provocative questions but Frank just too slick.Interviewer just kept trying to digg but she quitend down as interview continued Frank is just too on point too slick with the answers controlled it well.
Frank owned that s34t forbes should be quite now.I need to age and be as cool as this guys when Im in the 40+ range.Damn we got some cool calculating mofo execs.
Theres a big payday in store for this fella and others when BB10 hits!
lol Recool
Great interview though. I've yet to see an interview of the executive team that i wasn't impressed with. They're all very enthusiastic and eloquent in their presentation, and also very informative.
Plus, it confirms the fact that all those BNN interviews and the like (and even this one itself) are all part of their pre-launch marketing strategy.
All of the executives look very tired, Frank, Thor, and most likely Kristian should get a nice long nap on January 30th! :D
I want one of those pins as well....
Did you notice the climb down on the number of apps? 70k
RIM doesn't have to "out do Apple's comeback". Sheer viability will do, and they seem to be doing everything they need to in order to reestablish that.
There's a few reasons why the previous 100k+ could have been viewed with a healthy dose of skepticism. If it were a climb down from 50k to 20k, I might be concerned, but 70k is still a pretty healthy portfolio. CONSIDERABLY better than Windows Phone/Win RT is likely to see for a while.
And, let's face it, the sheer number of apps may turn out to be not quite so important as exactly which key apps are there for launch. Something tells me RIM is likely to bat 2 for 3 there (i.e., we'll see most of the big ones that users have been clamoring for, but maybe not all for one reason or another).
Gimme 50 useful apps and I'm a happy camper!
I think Frank mentions greater than 70000 apps because they are already there. If he mentioned that BB10 will launch with greater than 100000 apps and they don't, the media will let them have it. Although I still expect over 100000 apps to be available at launch or slightly afterwards
They can sleep after BlackBerry 10 smartphones ship to end-users via wireless carriers and not one second earlier. However, if BlackBerry OS 10 is not ready for the tablet by early summer (June 2013) and/or BlackBerry 10 smartphones cannot bridge to the existing BlackBerry PlayBook running BlackBerry Tablet OS 2.1.0.1088 there will be many questions to answer.
Wow, this guy knows his stuff. I listened to many executives speak and this is the guy I want to build the BlackBerry brand. I believe!
I pre-ordered my BB 10 today as well.
