Default HTML5 WebWorks the future of legacy BBOS phones?

BBOS5+ can these java based phones not run Webworks apps? Is HTML5 the future that will parallel BB10? Does anyone think we're going to see any updates on the APP front for legacy BB devices?

Could reseach in motion not do something similar? Seems like in a way they already are with Webworks HTML5 and Ripple

I wonder if a browser update could do the trick. Probably not 100% ... but couldn't it manage a quite decent level of compatibility ?

It could I highly doubt RIM would take time from bb10 to go back to os5 that mature updates to the browser is possible but more time consuming for torch mobile
