I can only do some research, and I can send some emails. If my emails need to be more in depth I usually use my laptop or desktop. I tend to have more errors when trying to send longer emails using my blackberry. Sometimes I will re-read an email that I sent and can't believe the recipient even understood what I was talking about.

I do quite a bit as well. My BB wouldn't be able to replace my laptop/PC since I do a lot of graphic-intensive work, but all my communications, work management, and documenting can be done while away from the desk.

My biggest grumble is not being able to take orders/credit cards. If I had an app that would tie in with my merchant account, that would make my day.

If I was able to access files on a shared drive and SAP from a BB I wouldn't have to get out of bed in the morning!

From what I understand, I'm already halfway there with OS5.

All email as well as other communication is processed through the blackberry. Almost all internet is done on the blackberry unless I need to download a file that is not compatible. Research (i.e. Wondering who that familiar actor is and sports scores), as well as txting and phone. It rarely goes black screen from the time I wake up at 8 to when I go to bed at 1230.

I think it all depends on what you do from day to day. It will be a while before any mobile fully replaces a laptop. However for some people it already does.

I think this guys right up on email was based on him not having enough experience with the setup of a blackberry and some things he was quite off on and if he new how to do it would have proved to be easier.

I can agree with him on mobile browsing not replacing a laptop quite yet..

but with something like skyfire improving the experience it very well might.

I can only do emails really. Surfing the web for information can be a chore due to long loading times. But at least I am constantly in touch with my emails, although it can be a bad thing!

Xopher,
There is a Point of Sale app it's called CHARGE Anywhere Payment Application for BlackBerry Smartphones. Crackberry sells it for $149. I'm buying it for my mobile business.

I know what you mean! Back when I had my Pearl, I would send serious emails and get replies saying "OMG you're so funny!" when I though I was being completely serious. Only then would I read the message I sent to find out that suretype completely f**ked things up again lol. Thank God those days are over for me!

I use my bb for lots of things. I browse, take notes, appointments, tasks, pictures and my blog. While it hasn't replaced my laptop;it gets more use.

I pretty much use nothing else other then my bold now. All my internet banking and bills are done on my bold. I completly rely on my bold for email too gone are the days of constantly loggin on to my google or hotmail accounts on my laptop everyday. I've also started using documents to go a lot more to type up my quotations but find myself emailing them to my laptop just to check that the page turns out right before sending them on to my boss via bb. Just need to have a bit more confidence I guess. I'd struggle to live without my bold nowadays
