I'm with the carriers, get them to market fast! Like right after the announcement on 30th... I want to watch the launch and then head right over to Bell World to snag a lovely new Z10.
Hater of all things APPLE.... Innovation, really? iphone = itouch with a phone, ipad = bigger itouch... give me a break!
Evaluation of awesomeness:7230, 8830 World Edition, 9800, 9860, and now a shiny new Z10 plus 2 x 32g Playbooks - 01-28-2013, 01:56 PM #4
Carrier's want RIM to succeed, they don't like the way Apple has made demands of them. And RIM does have a group of built-in customers (enterprise and government) that are expected to eventual adopt the new platform so it isn't a matter of IF people will buy BB but more of WHEN.
And of course everyone HOPES that BB10 devices and the new BB ecosystem will appeal to lots of people outside of that core group. - 01-28-2013, 02:42 PM #6
People, put a little thought into this whole evolution. RIM is set for a world wide launch of BB10 on 30 Janurary 2013. With all of the hype they are putting into this if they do not have a product to put on the market within hours/days of all their marketing how effective are their marketing dollars going to be? Any lengthy delay would be disasterous (think playbook here).

Heins "The [carrier] partners that we have want to be really fast and early to market"
I'm sure the carriers will have devices for sale within two weeks of Wednesday. I reason that the launch date of January 30 wasn't a random choice, rather, it was chose because RIM knew that by then, most carriers would be able to sell devices. RIM knows how crucial this launch is and how important it is to have devices in customers' hands soon after launch. You can bet that RIM wouldn't allow something as trivial as this to ruin the launch.

Carriers in CANADA will have the devices on the first week of February. The other countries will follow AFTER the Canadian Launch.. I heard this FIRST HAND from the western regional Rim Rep at a Rogers Meeting a WEEK ago.

Telus has been pushing BB10 heavily in the past week on twitter. I don't remember them pushing a RIM product so much.
