    Default Good bye BBM Music

I guess everyone knows by now... I hate this news... BBM Music is gone... The end date, June 3 2013.

You let me down BBRY, I waited for BBM Music 10... it never came.

BBM™ Music service will be discontinued as of June 2, 2013*. For paying customers, April is the last month that you will be billed. In May, as your BBM contacts stop using the service, songs in your playlists will begin to turn grey and will no longer be available.

After the service is discontinued, we recommend that you delete the app from your BlackBerry smartphone by completing the following:
    1. On the home screen, click Options.
    2. Click Device > Application Management.
    3. Select the BBM Music app.
    4. Press the Menu key > Delete.

Though BBM Music is going away, you can still listen to great music on your BlackBerry. We’re giving you a 30-day pass to Rdio, which gives you unlimited, on-demand access to more than 18 million songs, including the latest hits and classic albums.

To get Rdio on your BlackBerry and claim your voucher, you will need to do the following:
    1. Visit BlackBerry World - Rdio on your BlackBerry and click Download.
    2. Launch the Rdio app and create your new account by clicking Get Rdio Unlimited.
    3. Verify your account, then relaunch the Rdio app and log in.
    4. Press the Menu key > Settings.
    5. Click Redeem Gift Card.
    6. Paste this voucher code into the redemption field:
    7. Click Redeem.

    Enjoy the music!

A lot of BB employees have stated that BBM Music was being discontinued.
Have I really been here for three years?

Sad but it had two major flaws: one was marketing and the other was poor execution. Loved the app itself! Fantastic design but the concept didn't work when many friends were switching to other platforms. Sharing songs with fewer friends didn't make sense. However, BB could use this experience to equip them for new ways to exploit BBM. They need to keep building this great social networking tool, so perhaps we might see something come later to replace BBM Music.

You get it wrong, it was meant for you to get contacts of people you did not know but shared the same interest in music so your music catalog could grow... It was a great idea, you could kept your anonymity and still access 50 song of every contact you added. I loved... I will really miss it..

YouTube? man, with BBM Music you have offline mode where the songs are stored on your phone and no need for data connection. YouTube does not give me that.

Disappointed to say the least. Does anyone know anything about the Rdio service they're promoting in place?

BBM Music was a failed product from day 1. Nobody thought it through. They should have never launched it, what a missed opportunity.

BBM Music was a wonderful product.

No, they didn't do a lot to market it, and it was introduced just as the brand was hitting a steep nosedive. It was the only genuinely social online music experience I've seen so far. That 50 song limit may have seemed tiny, but if you accumulated enough friends on the service you could have literally thousands of songs available.

My favorite thing to do was to find a bunch of new buddies and shuffle the "Recently Added" playlist. There was tons of stuff I either hadn't heard before or hadn't heard in years. The full library was pretty good (seemed at least as good as Slacker's or 7Digital's), so there was tons of variety.

Oh, and having 25 swaps a month gave me a chance to put new music in rotation that I could listen to at my leisure. If I found I still really liked something after 5 or 10 listens, I'd buy it.

It was different, and I don't expect there were that many people who "got" it, but I did and I'll miss it.

Mistake to launch it in the first place. 6 people who liked it is not nearly enough

Bummer! I love BBMM. Sad to see it go. I have been subscribed since beta zone. If it wasn't for the contacts I made on BBMM, I would have almost nobody on my BBM list.

I love Rdio so that's all cool and stuff...

But seriously blackberry? The alternative is a service THAT DOES NOT HAVE AN APP ON BB10!? How on earth does that make sense for those who have / are thinking of moving up to BB10!?
