Engadget - Z10 - UK price - £480 unlocked
BlackBerry Z10 priced at £480 unlocked by purported Carphone Warehouse database leakWith all the BlackBerry 10 leaks as of late, it seems inevitable that pricing info would get ousted in the lead up to January 30th. Thanks to an anonymous tipster, it appears that the the unlocked version of RIM's Z10 will cost UKers a cool £480. The leak comes from what's said to be a snapshot of Carphone Warehouse's internal database, listing the white variant.
What do you think? People going to buy off-contract or see for a better deal on contract? - 01-26-2013, 09:56 AM #2

well say its £30 a month for 24 months, thats £720
say you buy it for £480 and go sim only at £10 a month, over 24 months thats a total of £720.
so the price is actually not too bad, obviously ya monthly costs are gonna vary by useage, but a sim free you arent locked into for 2 years either.

Can't see it - due to deals and cashback offers, I currently pay the equal £10 for unlimited internet, 5000 texts and about 300 minutes (I never use more than a minute). Also due to the state of the economy, even though I am doing well financial, I avoid any sort of contract commitment if I can because you never know what is coming.

Ill be buying outright but hopefully my PAYG phone fund from EE and trade in of my old phone will knock back some of that price :-) and if its lower on another network then CW match that price and you can stay on the same network so I remain hopeful.

480 Pounds = $750 USD!
That's expensive, in my opinion.
I was anticipating:
on contract price : $149
full retail price: +$400 = $549. I (and friends I have talked to) thought that $549 would be the sweet spot.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have the money saved up and ready to go, that said it seems a tad too steep....
Was hoping for more around the £400 mark. Was looking at getting the QWERTY device anyhow which should be cheaper but that all depends on when that particular device is out...
if i have to wait for more than 60 days i will fold and get the z10. - 01-26-2013, 11:16 AM

i paid £500 for my sim-free Nokia N9, but there was no alternative for a swipe based UI built with Qt, now there is:
BBOS10 (RIM)
Sailfish (Jolla)
UbuntuOS (Canononical)
I think i'll hold fire for now.............. - 01-26-2013, 11:31 AM #20Phones:

I agree folks may be reading too much. But this is CrackBerry community passionate about BlackBerry (and that's a good thing). So, we discuss everything - big or small.
As for pricing: it is not a trivial matter. It's one of the most important thing. Product, Price, Placement! Difference between $600 and $750 is difference between sale and no sale. So, yeah, it's natural for people to get concerned or passionate about pricing. Sure, I agree, it's just speculation at this point but then we have been discussing speculations, leaks and ideas regarding BlackBerry 10 on these CB forums for several several months now. Discussing leaked/speculative pricing is no different.
Besides, it's gotten harder and harder to wait for BlackBerry 10. I thought it'd become easier to wait as we get closer to the release. But in fact, it has gotten harder (for me). Every day seems like a long day. 24 hours seem like 24 days! I am guessing many people waiting for BB 10 are feeling the same eagerness waiting for BlackBerry 10 and are picking-up (consuming) every nibble (leak, speculation, idea) on BlackBerry 10 while they wait for launch.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

it`ll be around that if other devices are anything to go off.
as an example (and doesnt make these figures right at all) a iphone5 16gb is £509, but costs $649 in the US. so id expect to see something around $600 as an off contract price, thats just a guestimation though

As I've said before, I'll go no higher than $549.00.
To me, no phone is worth $750. None.
I will upgrade in June, if that's the case. Gives the red more time to come out, if it ever does.
Oh well.....I'll live.Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy, and good with ketchup
Isn't it amusing how people who claim to not enjoy CB at all simply can't stay away????
It's because it's CRACKBERRY, the BEST BB site....
