He's honest and blunt (without being obnoxious like some execs *Apple*)....adds confidence to the launch.

"If you understand what the promise of BlackBerry is to its user base it’s all about getting stuff done.
Games, media, we have to be good at it but we have to support those guys who are ahead of the game." Thorsten Heins - 11-19-2012, 02:55 PM #4

He seems genuinely excited about the 30th. We'll see then whether or not he really knows what kind of quality people are expecting out of these products.
QNX and LTE, hand me a pen and let's do this.

I like that. He realizes that the failure of this platform is simply not an option.

Though I wouldn't bet on it, I also wouldn't be surprised if a Slider were introduced. If you listen to the interview Thorsten was a little non-direct in his reponse to the QWERTY on the 30th question see starting at 10:35. That's when he makes his productS comment. He was very clear later on when asked specifically about Bold 9900 owners. It was almost as if he initially didn't want to say a traditional QWERTY device.

It would be awesome if there was a slider but maybe he doesn't consider the bold like phone a "traditional" qwerty device.
Maybe there are a bunch of things we don't know about it? I mean we have seen lots on the full touch phone but aside from 720x720 screen, keyboard and existence of keyboard shortcuts we don't know much about the keyboard phone. - 11-19-2012, 06:39 PM #19
Everyone loves surprises don't they? Surprises get people talking and that's just what they need.

I think one of the problems with iPhone 5 leaks wasn't simply that everything was leaked but that what was leaked was not exciting to begin with, in my opinion. If a new and exciting feature was leaked, I'm sure people will still be excited to get that in their hands to play with. (even so, they still sold 5 mils worth of phone).
