Docs to Go is an excellent product. I used it years ago when I first had a Palm.

My question is what kind of footprint will it require on your BlackBerry. I remember that the product was a HUGE memory pig both on my laptop as well as my Palm. As we all talk about all the time, the biggest weakness in our BlackBerrys is the limited memory capacity RIM gives us in our devices.

Hmmmm, that's not a convincing product feature.

I think on 4.5, Documents 2 Go is like a "demo"; why you could only edit existing documents and not create them. Having to use Docs 2 Go on a Palm, I could always create new documents and haven't come across a version where you could only edit and not create (not like WinMo office suite with two versions) Pretty sure with the BlackBerry version, we will be able to create new documents

the Docs2go on OS 4.5.0.18 (Slideshows and Word) is about 1.5 mb

The premium version with all the features will probably take up more space

Even with the low memory on current BlackBerry's (8800 series and early Curve models) It should run fine. With Slideshow and Word only being 1.5MB adding Spreadsheet and maybe another application combined should be no more than 4MB. Currently I have around 16MB free so by adding Docs 2 Go, shouldn't be a problem.

They've had that signup for quite awhile, but no news to come out of DataViz. That page now says it requires OS4.5 (which I hadn't remembered), so I'd guess it's ready to release once RIM finally gets OS4.5 released. Maybe, just maybe, at WES?

I've used DTG for many years on my Treos. With that and SlingPlayer, I'll never miss my 700p.
