Corrected ad nauseum on this forum and elsewhere. Yet endlessly repeated.

At some point, you wonder if someone is posting something they don't know isn't true (lazy) or posting something they KNOW isn't true (deceptive). Then sometimes you wonder if it even matters!!!

I predict Apple will slowly sink starting in the near future because of lack of guidance from Steve Jobs. If he never returned back in the late 1990's Apple would be in the history books right now. Without him, Apple will slowly cease to innovate with cool products. Right now still floating because Jobs planned out the products for the next 5 years but after that-- dead wood.

If BB10 does the multitasking like Playbook and can run an Android app player at the same time, it will blow iPhone 5 away. The naysayer USA based bloggers will wonder why they every doubted RIM. It will start at OS2 and just "Cascades" from there

Yeah I feel the exact same way as the OP. I have an iPhone that I had traded my bold in for and now I am sick of the iPhone and am just waiting for the BB10 models to come out to switch back to blackberry. I don't think apple will go down even in 2 years but I was thinking the other day eventually the love fest for some will start to fail like it has with us, and hopefully one day they will pick up a blackberry and be won over by what I think is the best OS i have ever touched (QNX). People eventually get sick of a cocky company. And Apple is no different than any company on top who gets too cozy and money hungry, who eventually brings out the same old device and cuts quality to save money.

They are better in one regard. They are on a site whose purpose it is to cater to enthusiasts for the devices they are actually using.

If only so they can complain about the "bias" of all the other sites, where "bias" means "reporting any facts about RIM that can be construed as negative, to include any non-effusive device reviews, financial data and other issues."

Yes. Enthusiasts tend towards that behavior. Should not be a surprise to anyone.

Enthusiasm does not equate with delusion. I truly hope RIM can save themselves, but that's really best anyone can hope for at the moment. Survival. To think that RIM will ever post numbers like Apple's last quarter is absurd.

Edited to say that "in my lifetime" is maybe better than "ever." I'm thirty-four.

I don't see Apple heading south any time soon. Not for the next four to five years anyway.
The only negative about Apple right now is its biggest plus, the huge userbase. Apple might find itslef in the same state RIM found itself in 2007. The iPhone was a huge leap but now that so many millions of people are using iOS what will happen when iOS reaches end of life? Does Apple abandon its existing user base and bring up a completely new OS or should it keep on doing incremental upgrades to keep the OS alive but without huge leaps. In 2007 Apple had no mobile phone customers so it came up with a path breaking device. In 2017 iOS would have a huge entrenched user base bigger than RIM had before 2007. Apple might find itself in a difficult position regarding upgrading the OS.

You can see it happening with OSX already. When they didn't have a user base they easily dumped their niche user base on Power PC and brought in OSX while MS was struggling with new tech and backward compatibility. Now OSX is looking dated while Windows 7 was a huge step up and Windows 8 is showcasing technologies which are completely new.

So I don't see RIM beating Apple rather Apple tripping on its own but that too in 5-6 yrs time. How Apple handles the situation remains to be seen but historically every company with a huge user base has struggled to introduce path breaking technologies.

windows still sucks... Has tons of security issues and not to mention viruses - that's why there are viruses, because windows has ALWAYS been an inferior product and rip off of Mac OSX

Right. If/when apple has the largest user base lets see the bad people turn their efforts to apple. They don't bother now because guess what, they want infect the most they can.

Are you saying Microsoft didnt dump a bunch of money into Apple along with promising Office support amongst other things? You seriously need to learn to read.

Edit: LOL Were you the guy who suggested that a single article by some apple fan boy was accurate and that everything else out there was false? You people crack me up.

I don't think they care - windows is too easy to infect is the problem ... Inferior less secure product

Apple is a fad that will fade like the hippies of the late 60's & 70's.

I'd hardly call Apple a fad. I don't think they'll be on top for ever no company ever is but I think that day is far far off.

I'm a RIM guy, I own a ipod touch, I don' t use it much anymore but its a great device. But to call Apple a fad is crazy. They're not going anywhere. I wish their 'doom and gloom' followers who post here in delight at RIM's problems and to stir the pot would go away but I don't see that happening either.

We'll see if apple ever becomes the dominate OS around the world. They don't care because it ain't worth infecting such a small user base. If it ever does then they'll be interested and they WILL find the holes.
