Liking the optimism but at around 40k it will be out of budget for almost every curve user. At that price it will be sandwiched between note 2 and iphone5 - two very popular, tried and tested phones.

No bis free 3g either. Bbm might be the saviour.

    All the best z10.

We still don't have clarity on BIS and 3G... Our carriers will need to clarify. From what I have read some carriers are still pushing BIS, apparently for push mail to work. Most of the browsing stuff is still done out of BIS.

Not sure but will need clarity...big time.

The date was 24th. Apparently its been pushed back by 3-4 days. So I'm looking at the 27th or 28th of Feb. Either way, mine is on auto Pre-Booking. I will have it the day before its in stores even if it means the retail guy delivers it to my home at midnight. My 9900 was delivered at 10 PM, the night before it was available in stores.
BTW Richardat, that's how we get iPhones and BBs in India. Delivered at home. We don't stand in queues, if need be we send our servants or drivers to stand in queues. We aren't all begging for food you know.

And how did you pre-book? I tried univercell... They are not booking... Though it is on their site. Airtel is not even talking about BB10.... So help me out.

What is this comment specifically in reference to? I do not recall discussing lines, delivery, servants/drivers (though I personally would find this behavior rather classless and distasteful), or food.

Please reread my comments in this thread, then respond with quotes and direct replies, if you are sincere, because it seems as though you are intentionally making false allegations about what I have said.

I didn't think it has anything to do with carriers in India. The pre-booking would be directly with Redington. Ask your retail guy.
I wouldn't worry so much. I'm sure you will be able to get your hands on one even if you don't pre-book. This is India,100 ways to bell a cat .

Called redington and they say that since I am not a retailer they will not book. So I guess I will have to depend on my retailer... Will go on Saturday to the mall and check with mobile retail shop named Univercell...

Bhargav, surely one won't have to pre order to get it in India? Demand won't exactly be like that of a twenty twenty ticket

Agreed. The Indian target market is the middle class which amounts to 250m. That is a huge market for Blackberry, which is still a very prestigious brand.

Yes but is it a more prestigious brand than apple? You can get iphone5 for 6k more. Note 2 for less

That is good to hear. India has been a good Market for BlackBerry for a while now. I'm exciting seeing that BlackBerry has made major concessions to the Indian Government in the past, I would expect nothing less than a big lauch. This is good to see.

Every big celebrity, news guys, cricketers, actors, politicians (different type of actors ) use blackberry here - including the biggest star shahrukh khan and cricket captain Dhoni. BlackBerry should rope in some of them to promote. And do it properly with style. Playbook launch with salman khan was one of the lamest thing ever.

I hope the demand is good... I so want to see BB on top again....

But then I don't want the device late in my hands just because they are not available

Else... I just wait for the Q10.... Now that will be the icing on the Z10 cake....

BlackBerry already announced Ranbir as part of their campaign. Its a very good pick, if they utilize him correctly.

In India, yes BlackBerry is still more coveted than an Apple by an ever so slim margin. The people in India who buy the Note 2 probably already had their mind set on that device. For everyone in-between, I think this one is a seller... for those that can afford it.

I wonder how fast they launch the Curve 10 for AsiaPac in comparison to maintaining OS7.
