Blackberry 10 OS coming to Playbook

News out of DEVCON 2012 Europe.

This isn't news, Tablet OS was never anything more then the dev platform for BlackBerry 10.

I think what the article is trying to say is that after Playbook OS 2.0, there will be a further upgrade later, to BB10, on the Playbook.

I think we all assumed, but this is great confirmation. BB10 is being built on the same platform as OS 2, but I'm sure there will be many fundamental differences and improvements. This means that the original PlayBook won't get the shaft, and we will continue to get even more awesome updates after OS 2. This is fantastic, even if we did expect it.

I think the author fails to realize that the PlayBook is just a big BB 10 without (currently) the cell phone connection.

Give the OP a break, they are just stating that BB10 is coming to the platform. Some of us already knew this and some of us may be confused by everyones talk about BB10 and Playbook OS 2.0

It's the first time RIM has really confirmed it. They keep referring it to as Tablet OS, even though every one in the know knows is BB10.

With what we're seeing for timing, I expect something similar to a 3.0 "fusion" of sorts between PlayBook and BlackBerry handsets under the BB10 name. This convergence could take RIM into the future with a single mobile computing OS used on numerous device forms.

Man I have a feeling this bb10 is gonna be the sh*t... But the timing of it is all wrong... Millions of android phones will be out by then not to mention the new iphone

I think BB10 will be a good OS and as long as they stick to touchscreen they will have appeal to modern smart phone consumers. But Android has flooded the market, so they will need a major feature in the phone to make it stand out and in addition a strong marketing campaign.
