BBM7 missed call.

So woke up this morning, after installing BBM7 on my curve device...

new message from a friend:

"

Video chat attempted at 03:01 AM EST"

... BB10 to BB7!

Yeah - screen shot or it didn't happen. Who would believe that a friend would try to BBM call you at 3:01am!

I can believe that. I have BBM contacts from around the world, & some people are up at 3am. Look at Bla1ze. He's often posting in the middle of the night.

That being said....do I believe the Video chat?.....Screenshot or it didn't happen! lol

Likely bbm video chat from a bb10 device to a legacy BB os6/7 device will result in audio only

Even if this was only involving legacy BB OS devices, it does expose there will be compatibility to use BBM audio between old BB's and new BB10 devices

guy you forgot something.. since we can make bbm calls from BB10 to BB7... BBM is already handled by the same server? Am I wrong?

as for screenshot.. you guys wont believe me anyway. It appears as normal message from the contact and shows fallowing:

Your missing the part where the video chat message indicates that the caller was using BB10. Post the pic, which is easy to do, and you will be believed.

By this time you could have Photoshoped a picture just as easily as all those concept pictures of new bb10 devices. And you would be believed.

Well it wouldn't indicate the caller was using bb10, its assumed. And rightfully so I think anyway because no other device can make video calls from bbm than a bb10 device. And we know that the version of bbm on bb10 supports it since we've seen a demo here on cb. But really though I'd like a screen shot. Download the jared co app. Its nice.

I could have been someone using PB video chat? Haven't looked at it in ages as I don't have anyone to use it with, but I think if you put in someone's BB phone pin it would try to make a call. RIM said a new version of BBM would be released to allow BB10 to BBOS calls, so this may be that version. The wifi calls thing will be videoless BBM video chat.

You're correct with deduction.

For screenshot simply send yourself the above message from your friend's BBM.

PS: I think its brilliant marketing move... Made me want to get the BB10... Just so I can receive that damn video call.... But will I use it :S
