If real, there's a few possibilities...
1) A "bridge" type connection to a PC from a BB or Playbook.
2) Independent PC application, allowing for PCs to chat/conference with other BBM users (like iMessage in MAC OS) - Authentication could be via an active BlackBerry ID, so not everyone can use it.

Seeing as this tweet is from a "BlackBerryLeaks" account and anyone can photoshop a picture, I don't know how much this means.

Yeah this has definitely been leaked before. Not the image, but the info on bbm desktop
