I would prefer true VOIP and not PTT (Push to Talk), all the other messengers on iOS and Android can do it...apparently Viber is working on it on BlackBerry OS. Either way, I'm glad to see VOIP like communication come to BBM, wish it was here a long time ago when I still had contacts on my list.

I still have plenty so I see the point and am looking forward to it. Also, don't forget that in some nations, BlackBerry is King and BBM is a standard means of communication amongst many. As for every platform.... that's a discussion for another thread that's already out there. I for one disagree with your thought process.

it's on beta zone albeit i didn't find the download yet.
i believe it should be a voip type.
not 'talkie-walkie' style. we already have voice note on bbm which i have been using when i'm too lazy to type.
besides there's an app for ptt style.
look up for BeepUs app. fun app to use but must be in a good reception area or wifi.

but i strongly believe that rim should have this function many months or years ago instead of third party apps.
