It connects your bbid to your pin. It tells you when the relationship has been made. Download was fast. So far very stable. When you click on the voice icon it wants you to set up wifi if you dont have it on, which is good for hose that dont know how it works. I dont remember which emoticons were there beofre but there appear to be more then before. You can choose your bbm voice ring tone in notification options. It can aldo notify you during calls if you have a bbm voice coming in. Exploring more right now.

I'm coming from the BetaZone v.121 to this official v.126.
I think this may be just bug fixes for the gold candidate BZ release.
I have not noticed much of anything new as of yet.
I still cannot make my WiFi (phone availability) status unknown to others, but maybe in a future release.
RIM is really on the right track with this! BB10 will be a killer with this as well!

I still have the ARM update to v1.0.0.35 from last week. Maybe that is what you see?
FYI: You can access the hidden options section of the screen by typing FLTR when open.

RIM said support is coming early next year for OS 5 in the blog message they just posted at inside BlackBerry. Also, can anyone confirm that you can at least silence BBM Voice calls from ringing? Is there still a sound profile available for it so it can be silenced? I know the beta had it, but just want to know if the official release has it as well?

Yes. There is a sound profile election for BBM Voice. It is located in your sound profiles under "instant messages-notifiers"

I've been running this since the beta version. While it's a step in the right direction, I find it has very limited use, since both parties must be on WiFi.

I agree. It is limited. However, the only other way would be to use carrier data.
I'm sure that this cannot be negotiated by RIM without carriers charging for it in some fashion.
It would no longer be free to use.

Its maybe because currently even the best blackberrys are only H+ connection. Maybe LTE will allow over network. That's a guess

Yeah it's not a hard choice. A 3.7" screen without flash support or a 7" screen with flash support.

im assuming this only works with people who also have bbm 7? Cuz i dont see a voice icon anywhere on my bbm. Can someone post a screen shot of where it's supposed to be.

Yes, you both have to be on bbm7, and when you go to the contact you'll see a little telephone handset at top right. If you are both on wifi with connection to the BBM Voice ok the icon shows as a green background to indicate ready for a call.

See my reply on the bbm7 unable to connect thread for the ports that need to be open.
