Default Article: RIM’s biggest critic has troubles of his own

Article: RIM’s biggest critic has troubles of his own

I've seen so many The Star articles in the past year (Edit: Note this is actually a New York Times article posted on The Star Website), this one is a real treat to finally see. I never would have figured they would ever publish something quite like this...

"With its stock down about 65 per cent this year, Research in Motion, the maker of the BlackBerry, has no shortage of unhappy shareholders.

But few of its investors have sought and received as much attention over the past few months as Victor P. Alboini, the chairman and chief executive of Jaguar Financial."

Interesting... interesting to see the other side of the table!

Look a little more closely, it's a New York Times article.

I've always felt Jaguar was looking for a special consideration regarding it's relationship with RIM. Whether is was a board seat or just the publicity, they clearly wanted to get RIM's attention.

This plays into the adadage.......keep your friends close and your enemies even closer.

Clearly some agenda was in play here but it's ultimate goals certainly had nothing to do with shareholder protection and had everything to do with lining Jaguars pockets.

You'd have to understand virtually nothing about business, trading and the "politics of commerce" to not have figured that Jaguar has it's own special interest for muck-raking.

Frankly, I hope Jaguar bows out before RIM does, they deserve it for being a player if not a co-orchestrator.
