Apple buying RIM?
Apple maybe the one buying RIM in the end and access all its business side this way, get all RIM's patents and get the QNX business too (cars, etc.). They have the money to do it.
What do you think Blackberries? - 06-13-2012, 08:23 AM #2

If this did happen, I doubt they would but I agree there are some advantages for them. I think Apple would:
No more BlackBerry handsets.
No BB10 (components will be used in iOS)
Everything will be intergrated into iOS, everyone out at RIM, and the end of the keyboard smartphone. - 06-13-2012, 08:42 AM #5
Regulatory hurdles?
At first I thought the regulatory hurdles would be too much for Apple. But then I realized, they seem to have a way to keep politicians and regulators out of their way. I'm just saying.
A new paradigm is coming. Can you feel the shifting zeitgeist? - 06-13-2012, 08:46 AM #6

RIM is a company that has behaved ethically all the way and Apple is, in my view, a company that has not. Price fixing with e-books, restricting in-app stores for e-book competitors, price fixing with carriers, etc.
I will always be a BlackBerry supporter. I've seen what Microsoft did and I'm watching Apple follow in their footsteps. No thanks. My BlackBerry. Just love it, love it, love it. - 06-13-2012, 09:04 AM #11
RIM is definitely getting bought by Apple.
Hey! Wait... Look up in the sky. Pigs are flying. Why is it that when your contract commitment is up, the phone you always wanted is now old and the phone you now want won't be out until the next quarter?

I am curious why the OP even posted the question...... Serves no real purpose....

Um, excuse me. I got to post that amazing Cool Story Bro pic. That WAS the whole purpose.

Doubtful. Apple could always license some patents though, like the LED, that would be handy.

How dare you make such a blasphemous suggestion! Its like abandoning your car in detroit (detroit being apple, and the car being blackberry); dissasembled, chopped apart and sold for crack. RIM, with thorsten steering the ship, isn't naïve enough to let them be sold to (hold your tongue and say...) Apple

If iPhone got a GOOD LED that would make me look more seriously at it. I love my LED.

I'll say it again... Some developer could make MILLIONS with a SmartPhone Tycoon/ Sim's - Smartphone Edition type game...
Everyone's a business expert.
one of these days see me drivin' round town in my rock 'n' rolls Royce with the sun roof down
my bottle of booze no summertime blues shouting loud look at me in my rock 'n ' roll voice...
