Default [Analysis] Making BB10 Recent Applications View

    Hey everyone,

I grabbed these shots from the BlackBerry World Keynote. Notice how there is minimal information on the preview "squares" versus the expanded full app view.

This is great, as the shrunken app "previews" on PlayBook OS aren't very useful for some apps. Plus, in the video, the transition from the expanded view to the shrunken preview is really quick and smooth.

But my question is: how will developers be able to integrate this into their applications? I'll be very interested in how this plays out.

I'm guessing that the transition from preview to app will be controlled by the OS to standardize the transition...

I wondered this as well, if the developer can choose what is displayed when the app is minimized? Eg, you don't need the full calendar in a postage stamp size, but having your agenda for the day showing is handy.

Remember that podcast where Kevin won the internet? There may be a default Cascades view, but if there was a grid view developers could implement, this could explain dual view of the same app.

Something I was thinking was that RIM always offers great customizability...with that I was thinking what they may do with BB10 and how to customize it...

So the Glance Tile View, I am thinking that RIM will allow consumers the ability to modify what appears in the Tile from within the applications settings...

    For example,

If I am in my calendar app, and want the Tile View to show agenda layout then there will be a setting to choose that, something like..."Tile View Settings - - Agenda View, Day View, Week View, Simple View (Just the Date or something)" Something like that could be implemented for all native apps, and API could be opened for third-party developers to take advantage of that.

This way users will get the choice of what they want to view on their home screen when they minimize the application...I think this would work perfectly and allow all users to make their phone their own!
