Adobe Reader is pretty bad on every platform. It is bloatware of the worst kind and I uninstall it when possible. Fortunately there are always replacements. My choices are FoxIt on the PC, Goodreader on iOS and eZPDF on Android. The built in preview on MacOS is adequate.
Question about BB10. The screenshots seem to imply that Adobe Reader will be the default app launched when you open PDF attachments for emails. Does BB10 allow you to change the default app for a given file type? - 12-22-2012, 07:30 AM #9
There better be a way to select a different default app. PlayBook has QPDF and is good but you can't select it to be the default PDF reader. The invocation framework allows application and mime association so that should allow us to de-select Adobe. Adobe just doesn't work well which is strange.

I'll be happy enough if it can open large, password pretected files. That will do it for me.

I really do hope that for BB10, RIM will improve on the version of Adobe Reader available on the Playbook. I think it's fair to say that the PB version is "limited" and has few fans given the numerous posts (rants!
) on the Playbook forums.
Lack of a search facility is my main bug-bear.Proud Member of the PlayBook Beta Test Team (Since June 2011) - 12-22-2012, 11:10 AM
