I did not understand, why it need invite? I think it was not good idea, coz it followed GMail and SocialScope 's way, have no new idea.
Althou I don't agree with the invitation model (it might as well kill the idea before it has a chance to show its worth - see Google Wave) it seems like the best way to go, since you'd most likely invite your friends and they have (or should have...) similar musical tendencies.
You don't wanna end up hooked with a bunch of rappers when all you listen to is Bach right?
PS: Could use an invitation, Beta Zone does not deem me worthy.
I have it, but I dont really understand what it does. Only 50 songs? Whats that all about? Why would I pay 5 per month to have 25 different ones per month but not own the file or increase my amount I can store.
I got invited in last night. Installed and chosen 50 tracks already.
So far, I'm quite impressed by the selection of tracks they have available. I've started formulating an Old SKool RnB playlist. If you're in the beta, add me!
I used BBM music to stream my playlist whilst commuting this morning. I was partway through a track when the train I was on entered a tunnel. I assumed the track would cut out, but it had been cached so played on to the end
I think the idea is that you choose and rotate 50 of your fav current tracks and then have access to all your friends tracks aswell potentially giving you 100s of tracks.
I may be wrong about this. But it was the impression that i got.
The streaming does indeed work very well without a memory card inserted.
I think you do have one inserted it downloads the track for 30days.
I've been using the beta version for a few hours now and am loving it! Song selection and quality is great. I like the fact that you can cache or stream the songs. The UI is slick, and is very fast on my 9800.
I'm looking forward to actually getting some BBM contacts signed up and using the music sharing feature. That's the real draw for me right now.
I've been pleasantly surprised by the app so far. The selection is fantastic, and while having a 50 song limit seems small, once you've connected with others, you have a ton of songs to choose from. Excellent sound quality, nice UI, and it doesn't appear too abusive to resources.
The $5 a month is extreme to me, as little as I listen to music on my phone. Perhaps they can offers two tier plan, with one including advertising at a discounted rate. Zero would be preferred.
