Upgrade/downgrade BBM without reloading OS? (BES user)
After my buddy saw my BBM 5.0, and the older 4.7 from the BETA 5.0 OS, he wants some BBM upgrade lovin'. He's stuck on the latest ATT OS. His IT or whatever (I'm not familiar with BES), won't let him upgrade without an official ATT release, so he can't get login info at his will.
I don't want to go with BBM 5.0 unless I will be able to downgrade and NOT have to reinstall the OS. I was thinking just going with 4.7 from the BETA OS. It seems stable.
Can BBM 5.0 be downgraded without reloading OS? Someone had mentioned if you had the OS on your phone, on the PC, just delete BBM5.0 and plug the phone into the PC and it will reload (prompt or show in App Loader on DM). Has anyone confirmed this? One thing, he had .167 and did the ATT wireless upgrade (platform upgrade).

Just to clear that up, my concern is loading 5.0 and it not working properly. I haven't read a confirmed way to revert back without reloading the OS.

yes, you are just upgrading or downgrading the BBM which is a app and not part of the system or core software.

So as long as the OS on your phone and PC match, once plugged in (existing BBM removed from phone) DM should promptthe install or App Loader in DM should have the 4.6 BBM ready to install?

i backed up my bb last night and DM offered to upgrade core apps to 4.7. cool, i thought, except when perusing options it will either downgrade bbm from 5.0 to the old one, or remove it completely. anyway to update core apps without the bbm getting schwacked?
