Default Stupid BBM, why does everyones phone go to "busy"

i find that when i message most people over BBM, it will show the message as delivered. when i was just preparing to message them, their name on the buddy list was not italicized, with no busy clock next to it and free to chat. so i send the message and i see it gets delivered. then i back out and see the persons name is in italics and has the little red "busy" clock next to it. i can go back a few minutes later and the same thing, busy clock, delivered but unread message. sometimes its like this for hours. my one friend has had a busy clock for days now. what exactly makes the busy clock come up? on the phone, internet.....etc. it really pisses me off how no one will have a clock then all of a sudden it appears when i send them a message.

Its because they aren't in BlackBerryMessenger. Like ya its always in the background or whatever, but they actually need to be in the app or the conversation for it to not show busy.

Hey there. I've noticed similar happenings with bbm but have never really delved into the issue much. I too don't understand why a certain contact's status will change on the fly when I know for a fact that the contact hasn't touched his/her phone recently. Network thing?

When you send them a message and the don't open it or read it the bbm times out after two minutes and sets their status to busy automatically. I have tested this from I thread I read on it already because I had the same question.
