    Default Make BBM Go Away

I am running 5.0.0.975 on my Verizon 9650 and would like to delete BBM or make it not start up automatically on boot. Is this possible? If so, how?

You can uninstall it via Options- applications - add on

Select bbm and then delete it.

Unfortuneately BBM cannot now be deleted the way Fubaz suggests.

RIM made some changes and BBM is now part of the core OS.

So to remove it, you need CrackUtil and then you need to use CrackUtil to remove the file named
net_rim_bbapi_blackberrymessenger.cod. App world won't install or work without this file.

You can also download it, even though you already have it, and it will ask if you want to replace the BBM you have with the one you are downloading. Say yes to this and the new BBM will replace the old one, but the new one will now be listed under add ons instead of as a core app and can now be deleted.

Is it still removeable by running Apploader and simply deselecting on the list of apps screen?

This depends on which OS version you are running. What you say is quite true for OS5 .7-something but then it changed and on later OS versions this is not possible unfortunately.

There isn't much advantage to removing it btw, other than just not having it show up in the task switcher.

I updated to the latest version and was able to delete it. I don't have any friends...... that have Blackberry's, and the app switcher icon was bothering me. Thanks for the help everyone!

Did you read the thread? LOL
You can't delete it that way. Pete just explained the proper way.
