    Default Lagging Menu and BBM

    Hello.....

I got my bb torch 4 months ago, after 1 month of using it I started hating it, it used to lag so bad in the bbm page when more than 1 convo is opened, and now the menu started lagging so bad, after reading on the web no1 is having the problems im having, i updated to 6.0.0.337 but the problem is still there.

I'v read in some places that it might be a virus, if it is a virus can u guys suggest a program's name to clean it up ? and I prefer if u gave me a link to download it from, cause the app world is blocked in my country >.>

    Thanks and Regards

Delete BBM from your device, then reboot...

Then follow the below instructions inorder to get the latest BBM 6.0.0.56, it has 0 lag

    1) From your BB, click here to install BBM 6.0.0.56 >>> BBH-Plus Forums

Do not reboot your device if you were asked to do so, and do not attempt to run BBM at this point yet.

    2) From your BB, go here to install BlackBerry ID >>> BBH-Plus Forums

    3) When asked to reboot your device, do so.

    4) Download and install the BBM Fix from here >>> BBH-Plus Forums

    5) Extract the contects of the zip file you have just downloaded to somewhere on your PC

    6) Launch BBSAK, then click on the 2nd tab, which is Modify CODs, then click Install COD(s), thene select the 3 files from the BBM Fix zip we have just extracted.

    7) Wait for a while, until BBSAK reports that it has completed the operation.

    8) Pull your battery out for 3 seconds, then reinsert it, and wait for your device to boot up again.

    9) Enjoy your new installed OS, shrunk, to give you maximum available memory space and performance, and with the latest BBM FTW!

Simply uninstalling then reloading bbm from app world should clear it up.

Upgrading to a leaked version of bbm isn't advisable since there are plenty of bugs in that version as well, and requires a little more then normal knowledge to get it working properly.

The links to bbh+ are dead because of a problem on their website.

I don't think you have a virus, if you did it would affect more then just bbm. Also I have yet to hear of a virus on a BB that just affects bbm.

    Edit:
as far as lag goes, in a one on one conversation there should be 0 lag when opening bbm, group chats are a different story as they tend to take a couple seconds to load the messages when first opening.

To uninstall the current BBM, go to options, device, application managerment, find BlackBerry Messenger there, then click the mnu button on your BB, then DELETE

If you do not find the BBM listed there, then you will have to reinstall any BBM v5 again just go get it registered, then you will be able to see it and delete it in the application management.

Actually you didn't mention that. Since it is I don't know of a way to get it other then to reinstall the OS.

Actually now that I think of it, delete bbm from the applications menu, then run app loader(just like you were installing a new OS), should tell you your up to date but give you the option to load other things. Just reinstall from there making sure you check the box for bbm.

yes it will be present untill you do a battery pull. BBM is now an integrated app that cannot truly be deleted. The icon will still be present.

Do you use any Icon/Smiley pack for BBM? I know they mess with BBM6 and it's likely that they aren't that great for BBM5 either lol
