    Default Curve 8330 issues with bbm 5.0

    I am a verizon blackberry curve user. Im running the bbm 5.0 and it slows down my phone like crazy. It takes a while to open up a chat, and everytime i enter into it the hourglass runs like its downloading or something. Does anyone have this issue? Is there a fix? also, sometimes even if i read a message my indicator light still blinks thanks for the help

    Have you tried a battery pull, and which 5.0bbm version are you using?

    How much memory are you booting up with?

    And are you in any groups? - I found that groups can definitely slow down performance of the whole BB device if the group posts a lot of content.

    Options->Status

    Check now, I want to see if your memory is low.
    Then you should do that right after a battery pull to find out how much you boot up with.

    That's plenty of memory, if you were down in the millions instead of 10millions, then that could be the probable reason for the sluggishness of your BB, may I ask if you're running a newer OS or old OS; I'm not too familiar with Curve OS's but I'm sure 5.0 OS for curve in theory is faster than any other OS for curve.

    Hmm, maybe the OS you're running is just slower in general. I remember early 4.7 builds for Storm were slow and with big app use with big apps such as bbm, just slowed it down even more.
