Change location on blackberry Messenger

Hi. In blackberry messenger if I choose to show location it automatically chooses the country I'm in. Where does it get that information, from the SIM card?

it gets it from your local network and or Mobile Network Code.

a way to prove this was awhile back, a member here in Barbados was using the Digicel network. this network is based out of Jamaica. however, the users BBM said that he was in Jamaica, not Barbados. hence, since the Digicel network is Jamaican based, it detects him as being there. there is no way to change this, and it doesnt connect to GPS to get the location. the MNC for Digicel Jamaica is 050 and is also 050 for Antigua & Barbuda for example. my guess, is if someone was in Antigua, it would also say they were in Jamaica.

It comes off the date/time found under options.

Change your Time Zone, Save it and then go into BBM and click show location and you will see that is what shows.

tried this but still shows as the orginal country flag but the time zone is the one you picked.

Well im from Trinidad and wherever you go in the Caribbean your bbm locator shows Jamaica...you need to get a sim card from the country itself to show the proper location.
